Healthcare

We support medical work carried out by Divine Script Society (DSS) in the slums of Kolkata, serving some of the city’s most vulnerable communities.

The main Moila Depot Clinic provides high-quality primary healthcare close to where patients live, improving access to essential medical services for residents living in the surrounding slum areas.

In addition to the main clinic, patients can access care through community-based subcentres located in the heart of the local neighbourhoods. These subcentres offer daily nurse-led services, with a visiting doctor available once a week. Plans are in place to expand to three subcentres over the coming year. All facilities are located within a 5km radius, helping to make healthcare more accessible and improving the patient journey.

Patients requiring more complex care or screening services are referred wither to the main clinic or to government hospitals, depending on clinical assessment.

We also supports the DSS outreach programme within the slum communities. This programme delivers vital health education, helping local residents stay healthy, prevent disease, and understand the importance of early screening and treatment.
