Please support all the amazing work Calcutta Rescue is doing for people living in poverty in and around Kolkata by joining us for a fundraising walk in September – or by sponsoring our team – see links below.
On Sunday, September 4, we will be walking 20km from Kew to Hampton Court along the Thames Towpath to raise money for Calcutta Rescue’s core activities – providing health, education and improved living standards in the slums.
The walk is in honour of Calcutta Rescue supporter Kavi Varsani, who died of COVID-19 at the start of the pandemic, aged just 22. Four years ago, Kavi took part in a sponsored walk for Calcutta Rescue along the same beautiful route.
Last year 62 people, young and old took part and we raised an astonishing £13,000.
It was such a success, and the walkers enjoyed it so much that we agreed to make it an annual event.
So we are hoping to have as many walkers as possible take part this year, and to raise as much money as we can for the charity in Kavi’s memory.
